RIP OFF isn’t only about being on stage. Alongside our live shows, we also write, produce and release our own music. Songwriting has been part of the band for many years, and it’s still one of our biggest driving forces.
We believe a good song always comes first. That’s why our projects often start with a simple idea — a guitar riff, a melody, a few lines of lyrics or a piano part. From there the song takes shape step by step. Sometimes we get it right straight away, sometimes an idea needs to sit for a while before it feels finished.
We write together and develop both the music and the lyrics by trying things out, changing them and building on them until we feel the song has found an identity of its own.
Music without limiting genres
We’ve never felt we had to stay inside a single musical style. Some songs turn out rocky, others lean more towards pop, electronic, country or something else entirely. For us it’s the song that sets the direction — not the other way around.
That freedom lets us create music with different expressions and moods without having to fit a fixed template. Every project gets to develop on its own terms.
From idea to finished production
We produce our music ourselves and handle the whole process, from the first sketch to the finished master. Arrangement, recording, programming, mixing and final production all happen in our own studio.
Over the past few years, making music has evolved fast. Like many other producers, we use modern digital tools as part of the creative process. For us it isn’t about replacing creativity, but about having more ways to develop ideas, try new expressions and create music more flexibly.
Technology is a tool — it’s still the ideas, the melodies and the feeling that decide the result.
Our artist projects
Besides RIP OFF, we also work on several different artist projects, each with its own style, identity and audience. It gives us the chance to explore more genres and expressions than a single band usually would.
Whatever name the music is released under, it’s built on the same foundation: good songs, well-crafted productions and a desire to keep growing as songwriters and producers.
